I must admit, this was my inaugural—and undoubtedly final—visit to this establishment. Arriving at 1 a.m. with my novice student driver to retrieve a trailer, we discovered the shop shuttered until 7 a.m. Fair enough; no qualms there. Described to us as a modest repair outfit, it bore the eerie hallmarks of abandonment, so I parked our rig midway along the building, aiming to afford my student some much-needed repose before tackling the treacherous mountain passes ahead. As I dozed in the driver's seat, envisioning a peaceful interlude, calamity struck at 3 a.m.: a portly gentleman, advanced in years, piloting a pale silver extended cab, positioned himself mere inches from our door and unleashed a horn blast fit for Judgment Day. No prior or subsequent request to relocate, no scribbled directives in our notes—nothing to suggest our spot was verboten. As dawn approached and employees poured in, the parking lot transformed into a vehicular siege. They nestled their cars within whiskers of our tractor, compelling me to reposition not once, not twice, but thrice. Ample spaces beckoned nearer the entrance, yet they opted to encircle us like a misguided game of bumper cars. Who could have fathomed that this "small" shop employed an army rivaling a small battalion, all vying for parking as if spots were mythical unicorns? Such blatant disregard for the truckers who quite literally fuel their livelihood smacks of profound selfishness. I've duly informed my company of this farce, and I suspect myriad superior alternatives await discovery elsewhere. As for myself, I'll steer clear of this inconsiderate and shambolic setup henceforth—lest my blood pressure ascend those mountains before I do.
